America's hugely inventive idiosyncratic queen of grown-up pop follows up 2005's 'The Beekeeper' with an album that is being hailed as a return to the dark, harrowing feel of her early 90s work.

Whilst perhaps not quite as intense as Little Earthquakes, it does resonate with her debut album and also shares some elements of the sound of the excellent Boys for Pele. Performed by a "posse" of five unique characters, all played by Amos and representing different facets of her personality, the album's subject matter flits from the outspokenly political to the deeply personal.
