Antonia's perfect fifteen-year marriage comes to an abrupt end when her husband is killed in an accident. Stricken with grief, Antonia secludes herself from the world outside, until she unearths the remnants of a seven-year affair - a love poem inscribed on the back of a painting, she sets out to find her husband''s lover, only to discover the former mistress is a man, Michele.

Her disbelief is slowly overcome with fasincation; Antonia unlocks an entire world once inhabited by a side of husband she never knew. While this new world may have its perils, it also offers Antonia a new kind of family - one bound not by blood but by the strength of love, friendship and unbreakable human spirt.
