The long-awaited re-release of Gus Van Sant's classic first feature film bursts into life on DVD. Telling a tale of a young man's longing for a Mexican illegal immigrant and shot in stark and moody black and white, this debut feature from the director of Elephant and Paranoid Park is a classic gay movie.

Originally released back in 1985, this sad yet funny film garnered the burgeoning director early critical acclaim, winning him the 1987 Los Angeles Film Critic's Best Independent / Experimental Film Award.

Working in a liqueur store, Walt (Tim Streeter) encounters two handsome Mexican boys, Johnny and Pepper. Straight away, Walt develops an obsession with Johnny, an illegal immigrant who speaks very little English. His desire may not be reciprocated, but they soon become friends based on mutual need and desire.
