About the author and the illustrator

With over 15 years experience in the HIV/AIDS field - and working in London, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk - Patriic is an accomplished gay men's health worker and HIV trainer. Patriic has also written health columns for several publications including *ff Magazine and Oi! His humour, irreverence and common-sense approach to gay men's health is the hall mark of his work. In 1993 he co-founded Rubberstuffers, a condom pack distribution service for gay men living in London. Two years later, he wrote the Hand Book for Gay Men, which explains some of the technicalities of sex practice. In 1996, Patriic devised The House Party campaign, which provided health information through an interactive game with prizes. Launched by Sir Elton John, it is considered to be the first campaign in the UK to encourage gay men to look at health and lifestyle issues holistically. The following year, The House Party 2 collaborated with National HIV agencies, culminating in the campaign's launch in six major UK cities. Patriic lives in London and is working on his next book.
